A true reference class stand-mounting speaker, the Gold Signature 10 uses one RSTâ„¢ bass-mid driver and the new gold C-CAMâ„¢ tweeter developed specially for the Gold Reference Series. It has been designed to give the most accurate performance possible. The GR 10 is capable of pinpoint imaging and tonal accuracy to rival the best reference studio monitors. Yet it's equally at home when used in a multi-channel audio or cinema system. As part of a Gold Signature speaker array, accurate tonal matching means it integrates perfectly. RSTâ„¢ Rigid Surface Technology Cone Monitor Audio pioneered the C-CAM driver material many years ago. The new RST/C-CAM driver is much improved. The dimpled surface of the Gold Reference mid-bass cones provide a very rigid surface that's resistant to mechanical bending forces. The dimpled RSTâ„¢ pattern effectively displaces any standing waves than can propagate across the cone surface. The RSTâ„¢ cone remains a constant shape and diameter throughout the working frequency range. In a conventional cone that is allowed to bend, the deformation will result in distortion. It is true to say that in a typical model of the RSTâ„¢ cone, the distortion can be negated; resulting in a high resolution reproduction. To summarize, the RSTâ„¢ pattern allied to the rigid cone top and radially braced inner edge increases the working band of the loudspeaker in accordance with the rigid piston approximation.
